Burger King Revamps Whopper in Latest McDonald’s Competition Bid
July 23, 2024
Burger King has announced that it is revamping the Whopper in its latest effort to compete with McDonald’s.
TheStreet reports that the fast-food giant is relying on its newest Whopper, the Fiery Bacon Whopper, to launch a whole new Fiery Menu. The Fiery Menu will consist of five items and will be available at different spice levels.
Per the outlet, these are the new menu offerings:
- Fiery Strawberry & Sprite (Heat Level 1): Add a kick to your Sprite with a splash of spicy strawberry puree.
- Fiery Mozzarella Fries (Heat Level 2): These fry-shaped mozzarella sticks, available in orders of five, eight, and 12 pieces, are stuffed with gooey mozzarella cheese and peppers, then fried to a crispy, golden finish with a Fiery Calabrian pepper coating.
- Fiery Bacon Whopper (Heat Level 3): The new Fiery Bacon Whopper includes a quarter pound of flame-grilled beef, crispy Fiery-seasoned bacon, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and a creamy Fiery sauce, all on a toasted sesame seed bun.
- Fiery Chicken Fries (Heat Level 4): Offered in servings of four, eight, and 12 pieces, these signature crispy white meat Chicken Fries are marinated in a Fiery seasoning and covered with a savory garlic and pepper crust.
- Fiery Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich (Heat Level 5): This crispy chicken breast filet, glazed with a Fiery coating, is served on a toasted bun and topped with Fiery-seasoned bacon, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and creamy Fiery sauce.
News of the revamped Burger King Whopper comes amidst reports that there are other “major changes” coming to the restaurant with its new “Reclaim the Flame” campaign.
In addition to giving the Whopper the attention it deserves, the campaign included a $250 million investment to modernize sites with new culinary equipment, technology, and a more modern look. The company said in April 2024 that it would increase the budget for store renovations by $300 million.
Beyond Whoppers and fries, Burger King is adding many interesting new things to its menu. The company has been releasing new foods, drinks, and desserts at a rapid pace since the start of the year.
