Burger King Under Fire After Mom Allegedly Finds Blood ‘Spattered’ on 4-Year-Old’s Food
July 29, 2024
Burger King is back under fire after a New York mother allegedly found blood “spattered” all over her 4-year-old child’s food.
The New York Post is reporting that around noon on Friday, Tiffany Floyd brought her 4-year-old to a fast-food drive-thru in Getzville, New York, and was startled to see their food covered in what she thought was red liquid.
“All I heard was, ‘Mom, I don’t want ketchup,’ so I grabbed her bag, thinking that they messed up our order again, and I looked and there was just blood all over her hamburger, all over the wrapper. I looked inside the bag, there’s blood on her toys, everything,” the mother told the outlet. “So I instantly told her to spit out her food. She did have fries and a bit of her hamburger. And then I looked at my meal, and there was blood on mine too.”
Floyd immediately called the local Burger King, and the manager confirmed that “a cook had cut his hand and was bleeding.” The manager then apologized and offered to refund Floyd for the bloody meal but wouldn’t tell her who the employee was.
What’s more, Floyd took her daughter to the pediatrician, who informed her that she would have to wait 30 days before getting her child’s blood tested to check if she contracted any illness. She then contacted the Niagara County Department of Health, which confirmed that Burger King informed them of the incident.
Floyd then took to her TikTok to address the incident, which received more than 6 million views, 845,000 likes, and 10,000 comments since it was posted.

“We did tell Burger King that medical expenses was not enough,” Floyd told the outlet. “And how my daughter has not eaten since this and my anxiety is through the roof and what if my daughter needs professional help from this.”
“We were deeply upset and concerned to learn of this incident. We have been in contact with the Guest and are working with her to resolve this incident. This incident was the result of a team member in the restaurant who injured his finger, and upon noticing immediately stepped away. We closed the restaurant to retrain all the team members and hired an external company to complete a deep cleaning,” Burger King said in a statement. “We expect the restaurant to re-open Monday and are fully paying team members for any lost shifts during this temporary shut down.”
Earlier this month, Burger King also came under fire for firing a mother, son, and the son’s friends after a photo of the mother’s hiring practices at the fast-food restaurant went viral.
