Brands: Alibaba not doing enough to stamp out counterfeiting

The American Apparel & Footwear Association, which represents more than 1,000 brands, claimed in a filing with the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) that counterfeiting is running rampant on Alibaba’s shopping sites, particularly the online marketplace Taobao. The anti-counterfeiting group, Unifab, agrees and is urging the USTR to put Alibaba back on its list of known markets for counterfeit goods.
