Chick-fil-A Fans Demand Nationwide ‘Tropical’ Menu Items
July 23, 2024
Chick-fil-A customers have discovered that there are “tropical” themed menu items available in only one restaurant nationwide, and now, they want other restaurants to get with the program and make them available.
Parade is reporting that the chain’s Truett’s Luau branch in Fayetteville, Georgia, serves a tropical menu that includes dishes like Pineapple Chicken Tacos and desserts like the Pineapple Nut Milkshake.
The exclusive menu items were disclosed in an Instagram post made by Snackolator.
“At the Truett’s Luau in Fayetteville there are special Chick-fil-A menu items that are only sold there and they sound incredible,” read the caption, in part. “The two items that I’m most jealous of are Pineapple Chicken Tacos and the Frosted Pineapple and Pineapple Nut Milkshake!”
The unique location also brings “the spirit of Hawaii” to Georgia, and the website of the location reports that patrons “are welcomed into the restaurant with ‘Alohas’ and ukuleles. Tiki huts create a unique and playful environment, where customers can choose from sit down, counter and drive-thru service.”
Comments on Snackolator’s post all echoed the sentiment of wanting the popular chicken chain to make the items available nationwide. The company has not yet commented on the possibility.
News of the potential new menu items comes a little over half a year after Chick-fil-A settled a lawsuit with customers, in which the company awarded gift cards to those who were affected.
The fast-food restaurant was reportedly inflating food pricing for delivery orders by a significant 25%–30%, according to the lawsuit. Per the complaint, ordering 30-count chicken nuggets for delivery is approximately $5–$6 more expensive than ordering them in-store or for pickup.
The main grievance was that Chick-fil-A failed to inform patrons of the increase in the cost of meal delivery. The fast-food company has accepted the $4.4 million settlement even though it hasn’t taken responsibility for it (in other words, it did not admit fault or liability). It promised to set aside $2.95 million in gift cards and $1.45 million in cash to settle the claims.
Chick-fil-A also agreed to include disclosure warnings on its website and mobile app in an effort to be more open. These alerts will make it clear that product prices can increase for orders that are delivered.
