Google Pixel 9 Pro Gears Up for Full Release

July 19, 2024

Google has begun teasing its next-generation smart mobile phone device, the Pixel 9, which will have several models, including a Pro version and one with a folding screen. Rumors have spread across the internet about various specs and features, and while none of them have been confirmed, Google itself has been slowly releasing a trickle of information.

Made by Google is set to showcase the latest advancements in Google AI and its mobile platform. Scheduled for Aug. 13 at 10 a.m. PT, the event will highlight updates across Android, Gemini, and the Pixel device lineup.

Viewers can watch the livestream directly on the event page without needing to register, though they can sign up for updates and offers from the Google Store. Pre-orders for new devices will be available toward the end of the broadcast, which will also be accessible for viewing after the event.

The event will feature ASL translation, English captions, and translations in German and Spanish. For more information on Gemini, consumers can visit gemini.google.com and use the hashtag #MadeByGoogle for current updates.

Following its social media and website posts, which list details about the full event and Google’s next unveiling of upcoming products, the tech company also released a short video teaser on YouTube.

The video confirms, at the very least, that Google’s Pixel 9 will have a model in the lineup featuring a folding screen, much the same as Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold and the company’s very own Google Fold.

According to 9to5Google, for those pre-ordering the Pixel 9 Pro series in Australia, Japan, and Singapore, Google is offering a “limited-edition collectible” as a special gift. This exclusive item, described as a “piece of Google Pixel design history,” will be available only to the first orders of the new Pixel 9 Pro phones.
