Several well-known food companies graced a list of about 85 firms and brands singled out by PlanetFeedback as “A-Rated Companies” during 2001 for consistently high levels of customer satisfaction, reports the Meatingplace.com. Mail-order clothing rivals topped the list, which includes Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp., Omaha Steaks, Chick-fil-A Inc., In-N-Out Burger and Romano’s Macaroni Grill in its Dining and Fast Food category. The Food and Beverage category lists

Co., Mars Inc., Snapple Beverage Corp., Pepsi-Cola, Kraft Foods Inc., Hormel
Foods, Hershey Foods Corp., General Mills, Kellogg Co., Nestle USA Inc., Nabisco

respond to their needs and do whatever it takes to maintain their loyalty,”
said Pete Blackshaw, founder and co-chairman of PlanetFeedback. “They also focus
on creating a ‘total product experience,’ fortifying deep and emotional connections
with their consumers.”

Moderator Comment: Do retailers know enough about
the consumers who shop in their stores (and those that don’t) to adequately
respond to the needs of their trading areas?

It doesn’t come as any surprise. L.L. Bean and Land’s
End were rated numbers one and two by consumers. Also on the list of PlanetFeedback’s
top 85 was: Nordstrom Inc., Borders, Barnes & Noble, Tower Records, Reflect.com,
Drugstore.com, Sephora.com, CDNOW Inc., Outpost.com, TeenFreeway.com, Half.com,
Amazon.com, KBkids.com, Overstock.com, Proflowers.com, Target.com, QVC Inc.,
JCPenney.com, eBay, and FreeRide.com. [George
