Trader Joe’s Chicken Soup Dumplings Recalled for Possible Plastic Contamination
March 4, 2024
CJ Foods Manufacturing Beaumont Corporation has issued a recall for almost 62,000 pounds of Trader Joe’s chicken soup dumplings due to potential plastic contamination. This nationwide recall has been prompted by concerns that the dumplings may contain pieces of hard plastic, likely originating from a permanent marker pen.
The affected product, Trader Joe’s Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings, comes in 6-ounce boxes with plastic trays containing six dumplings each. Produced on Dec. 7, 2023, these dumplings can be identified by the establishment number “P-46009” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
Consumers who have purchased these dumplings are urged to either dispose of them immediately or return them to the Trader Joe’s store where they were purchased for a full refund.
Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries associated with the consumption of this product at present. Nonetheless, the Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service advises consumers to exercise caution and refrain from consuming these dumplings to avoid any potential health risks.
The recall serves as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of consumers. It underscores the importance of thorough quality control measures in food manufacturing processes to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
