Blue Bell Ice Cream Drops Chocolatey, Cheesy New Flavor

July 12, 2024

Blue Bell Ice Cream has released a new chocolate-cheesy flavor — and it’s different from what you’d expect.

The company shared in a press release that it is proud to debut its newest flavor, Cookies ‘n Cream Cheesecake Ice Cream, a decadent cheesecake ice cream blended with chocolate cookie-crusted cheesecake pieces and chocolate creme-filled cookies.

The new flavor debuts for the 40th anniversary of National Ice Cream Month, designated in July 1984 by then-President Ronald Reagan. Subsequently, the following year, July 30 officially became National Cheesecake Day. Therefore, the debut of an ice cream with a great cheesecake flavor will surely delight consumers and celebrate two iconic desserts simultaneously.

“Of course, we enjoy ice cream every day at Blue Bell, but to make July a little extra special, we have introduced our new Cookies ‘n Cream Cheesecake Ice Cream,” said Sara Schramm, marketing brand manager. “If you love our Cookies ‘n Cream Ice Cream and cheesecake, this is your dream flavor. We combined our crème-filled cookies with cheesecake ice cream and kicked it up another notch with the chocolate cookie crusted cheesecake pieces. A delicious treat in every bite”

But that’s not all frozen treat aficionados can look forward to. Blue Bell has also devised another great pairing: the A&W Root Beer Float Ice Cream. It combines vanilla ice cream swirled with an A&W Root Beer-flavored sherbet.

Schramm said of the second debut, which recreates a childhood favorite, “A&W Root Beer Float Ice Cream is the perfect addition to our lineup. We were inspired to create this flavor after the success of Dr Pepper Float Ice Cream last year. Both are a great addition to all of your summer gatherings.”

For a limited time, Cookies ‘n Cream Cheesecake Ice Cream is available in half-gallon and pint sizes. This news comes on the heels of the Groom’s Cake and Cookie Cake ice cream flavors’ return in 2025, according to WFAA.
