Taco Bell’s Newest Menu Item: Cheesy Street Chalupas
July 18, 2024
Taco Bell has introduced the Cheesy Street Chalupas, combining traditional street taco ingredients with cheesy chalupa shells, which the brand dubbed Quesalupas. Available starting July 18 for $5.49, these chalupas feature slow-roasted chicken or marinated steak, fresh onions, and cilantro, topped with Jalapeño Ranch sauce.
“The Chalupa has taken many delicious forms over the years, but with the Cheesy Street Chalupas, we set out to create a new flavor-rich way for fans to enjoy the beloved menu item. The fresh onions and cilantro atop layers of cheese and premium proteins seasoned to perfection adds a different flavor profile and is our playful nod to the street taco that we all know and love. When it comes to supporting the communities that inspire our food innovation, we’re just getting started. The 46 street-legal food cart donation is the first of a long-term commitment we have to these entrepreneurs; more to come in the years ahead.”

Taco Bell’s Cheesy Street Chalupas are inspired by Hispanic and Latino street food culture, showing homage to their traditions with a unique take on the recipes. It’s an evident synthesis inspired by both the original cultural blending of classic street taco ingredients with Taco Bell’s history of food items.
This new menu item features street-sized, cheese-stuffed chalupa shells which have evolved from Taco Bell’s Quesalupa shell that was introduced nearly a decade ago in 2016. The Quesalupa combines the elements of chalupas with quesadillas. Meanwhile, Taco Bell’s first Chalupa recipe originally debuted nearly three decades ago in 1999.
The new Cheesy Street Chalupas are served as a pair, and special deals include a free order of Cheesy Street Chalupas with a $25+ delivery on the Taco Bell app from Aug. 1-4 and $8 off for DashPass members from July 18-24.
